A Woman in a Burqa
Saturday
When you see a woman in your town wearing a burqa, does it make you feel invaded? If so, does that mean you are an intolerant racist? Does that mean you are a narrow-minded bigot?
Let me ask you another question: If you see a nun in your town wearing a nun's habit, do you feel invaded? If you see a Tibetan Buddhist monk in your town wearing monk robes, do you feel invaded? If not, then "narrow-minded bigot" and "intolerant racist" must miss the mark. Something else is causing you to feel invaded when you see a woman in a burqa.
A burqa is a visible sign indicating that the wearer is following a particular ideology. If we see a Catholic nun in a Catholic nun habit, we can guess with a high degree of certainty what ideology she follows. If we see a Tibetan monk with a shaved head and a saffron robe, we can guess with a high degree of certainty what ideology he is following. If we see a man who has shaved his head and has a swastika tattooed on his neck, we can guess with a high degree of certainty what ideology he follows.
Back to the woman in a burqa. Why are you bothered by seeing a woman in a burqa walking down your local street, but many of your fellow citizens are not the slightest bit bothered by it? Some of your fellow citizens would be much more bothered by the fact that you feel invaded. Why? Because they don't know much about Islamic doctrine. They believe Islam is just like any other religion. They may see the woman in a burqa as a wonderful manifestation of multiculturalism. You see it as an invasion. The only difference is how much you each know about Islam.
If you know someone who is not bothered by a woman in a burqa, talk to them about Islamic doctrine. Do it gently. Think small bits and long campaigns. Use Inquiry Into Islam to help you. It may take awhile for the reality to sink in, but when it does, we are in a better position to marginalize, discredit, and disempower orthodox Islam. The fewer non-Muslims unacquainted with Islam the better off we'll be.

Interesting way to look at this issue. Helps me feel better because I really do hate seeing burkas in my country.
However I don't mind Buddhist dress, Jewish dress, Sikh dress etc etc. but I do mind seeing a bunch of traditional non moderate muslims who think I'm a Kuffar or infidel moving here.

I have studied Islam, Muslims, Shiites, Sunnis, Shariah from every angle for several years and just started a blog, Infidel Defense Alliance, where members will be very activie in their communities spreading the word about this horrendous lifestyle that is imposing itself on the world.
When I see a woman in a Burqa I have very negative thoughts. They could be "moderates" and genuinely compassionate people.
However, somehow the term "genuinely compassionate" and Islam do not pair up. More than likely they are advocates of a group that intends to subjigate us.
I asked a burqa wearer where she was from, she replied "Saudi Arabia" I asked her which mosque she attended and she told me.
I asked her "How many churches and synagogues are in Saudi Arabia"? "None," she replied.
"Why do you come to the USA, build over 900 mosques since 2000, and don't allow us to build churches in Saudi Arabia,
or don't allow us to preach Christianity or even carry a Bible or visit Mecca or Medina".
Your Doctrine of Hijra needs to be offset with our "Doctrine of Reciprocity" which is tantamount to The Golden Rule, Ten Commandments, "whats good for the goose is good for the gander".
President Obama said "The future must not belong to those who slander the Prohet of Islam". I say, "The future must not belong to Islam, "slavery will not vanish from the face of the earth until men stop worshipping Islam - (Winston Churchill - 1898 - From the Sudan).
Enough said.
Couldn't agree more. I am irritated beyond belief when I encounter black-shrouded women. I have to restrain myself from saying something to them. Their ideology is so offensive and sickening to me as a fairly feminist woman.
Very well said & I accept that what is written speaks on my behalf.
Seeing dozens of Darth Vaders at school bus stops is concerning. Why are they hiding? Are they all women?
I think you should check under the burqa and make sure it's a women and not a guy..I'm sure many a terrorist has evaded detection by cross dressing...
In September 2010, while I was a student at The University of Texas at Austin, I saw a young Arab-American woman in a burqa. An Americanized 20-something woman sporting the quintessential symbol of Islamic oppression made my skin crawl. I felt pity for her & rage at her family & toward Islam. The fact that familial and religious pressure could force her to wear a burqa like it were a normal piece of clothing saddened & disgusted me. Let's follow France's lead & ban burqas!
I've never (thankfully) seen a woman wearing the full burqa where I live (Melbourne AU) however occasionally I see someone wearing the niqab. I try not to judge them. I figure they are most likely wearing it for one of two reasons: 1) they do so out of free choice as an expression of religious devotion or identity in which case it really is no different to a nun's habit or a monk's robes or 2) someone is making them wear it against their will in which case I feel sorry for them that they either do not know that Australia is a free country or cannot break free from the men who oppress them. Either way, affront or offence is something I choose not to feel. I'm pretty sure no Moslem woman is wearing the niqab just to piss white Anglo-Saxon Aussies off and if they are well, good on them I guess. I remember how very upset people used to get by kids who dressed goth and punk back in the 80s (including me).
Daniel , you cannot be serious comparing this issue with goths , punks etc. In Sydney we are seeing these hideous black things . Some children are terrified of them !! They make my skin crawl with disgust. Yesterday , i went to a juice bar, there was one of them working there . I absolutely refused to be served . They use their hand instead of toilet paper. They have a bucket of water instead....but no soap. !!! We have sinks with running water but oh no , they must keep up with the standards set 1400 years ago . Makes me sick.
I visit Australia at least three times a year, January 2015 and briefly in April 2015 being the most recent trips. In WA there are many women at shopping malls in full burka. Sydney likewise. I really dislike this, I have no idea who I am walking amongst.
While I am seeing somebody in full burka, I am terrified.I do not know who is under of it?Somebody ugly carrying bomb to plant it?In some European countries like France and Belgium burka is banned. And I am for it to do the same in the rest of European countries. The worst situation with burkas in Europe is in the United Kingdom. This is plague.
It makes me feel real uncomfortable , because what in the hell does she have under all those clothes and is it really a woman or a man ??? Who knows can't see anything !! #NO2ISLAM
the burka and hajid are 2 things to me. first they are rying to convince us that the woman I chosing to stick out like a sore thumb, they are trying to provoke negativity by instigating anyone who they see as intolerant. play race card. I am going to initiate that these covered women offend me as a woman. America fought hard for equality are not getting heard. they want to go back their ways on their kids and not assimilate. get robbed in divorce court sharia courts. I you wear a burka you are inviting hate crimes to yourselve. if drawing mo is a good reason to kill you cuz we should understand their culture try no to offend a dead guy from1400 yrs ago. but in this land it is insulting to oppress us. ify you are so worried about safety go about your modest dress in a less offensive way to me. people wearing masks have an agenda and islams agenda to bully girls wear it and saying its their choice. they are saying I am not one if you! I want to live in all muslim residents but still want to cash those state and federal welfare benefit that is provided by the infidels.
Why is it forbidden to wear a cap, hat, helmet, sun glasses in a bank WHEN the fat lady in front of me is wearing a full burka !!
There is no comparison between a nun's or a monk's garb and the burqa. While the former is a symbol of true effort to achieve peace and salvation, the latter is a symbol of subjugation or worse, the willingness to be subjugated. As a woman, I wonder what would I have done had I been born in such circumstances. And the oppression feels so heavy when I imagine myself that way, that I couldn't help but think these women are by now totally devoid of spirit. And that's why I feel uncomfortable around women in burqas.
I have never seen a Christian nun or a Buddhist monk/nun try to kill, nonbelievers . The burqa is insult to women's God given right for freedom . I saw a woman yesterday the supermarket with the burka, last year I saw a young woman or old woman who could tell, completely dressed from head to toe in black on the boardwalk in New Jersey in the middle of summer. It disgusted me.
3 days ago, may 12,on sunday morning in Surabaya, Indonesia. A woman in burqa with her two children strolled in a bit hurry in attempt to go inside the church, security persons guarding the entry approached, trying to to stop her, to ask her whereabout...and BOOM !!!

What a fucked up female abomination...the ideology, the hatred, the symbolitation, the potential to conceal deadly device underneath such fashion..
Seeing a woman in a Burka at the shopping center is as welcome a site as seeing someone show up in a clan robe. Both are uniforms of supremacy. I'll take liberty over oppression every day.
