What About the Good Verses in the Quran?

THIS IS ANOTHER in our series, Answers to Objections. You've probably heard someone quote "good" verses from the Quran. Bill Warner wanted to know exactly how many verses in the Quran are positive for non-Muslims, so he counted them. The answer is 245. That's pretty good. That adds up to 4,018 words in the Quran, and comprises 2.6 percent of the total Quranic text.

But, says Warner, "in every case, the verse is followed by another verse that contradicts the 'good' verses." Furthermore, except for seven verses, every "good verse" is abrogated later in the same chapter (known as a "sura"). Those seven exceptions are abrogated in later chapters.

In other words, every single one of the verses in the Quran with a positive message for non-Muslims is abrogated, leaving nothing positive for non-Muslims. Not one verse.

There's more. Warner says, "The media emphasizes Islam's positive verses about the People of the Book, the Jews and Christians. Even this turns out to be illusory. Christians and Jews receive the goodness of Islam only if they agree that their sacred texts are corrupt, the Koran is true, and that Mohammad is a prophet of the Christian and Jewish religion." If they do that, they will get the blessings of Islam. Of course, if they do that, they are no longer Christians or Jews; they're Muslims.

So there is nothing positive in the Quran for non-Muslims. Period. And there are 527 verses in the Quran that are intolerant to non-Muslims, 109 verses calling on Muslims to make war on non-Muslims.

When non-Muslims read the Quran and don't like it, sometimes they're accused of "having an unfavorable view of Islam" or being an Islamophobe. Or they may be simply accused of "hatred."

But, really, what is there to
like about any of this if you're a non-Muslim?

You should give an example of a contradictory verse after a good one.

  2. Here's one SmartyPantz

    The two "good" verses

17:31 Do not kill your children because you fear poverty. We will provide for them as well as for you. Surely, killing them is a terrible sin.
17:32 Have nothing to do with adultery. It is a shameful act and an evil path that leads to other evils.

    Now for the bad.....

17:33 Do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden to be slain [a Muslim] unless it is for a just cause [apostasy, retribution for a killing]. Whoever is unjustly slain, We have given their heirs the authority to either forgive or demand retribution, but do not allow him to exceed limits in slaying because he will be helped by the law.

Allah has only forbidden a Muslim to kill another Muslim.. It's always open season on Kafir.

    hope this helps

Neither quotes show the Quran or Muslims to be honorable good people...that is the point! There is no true good in them. They are totalitarians who believe that they are the only people of worth on the planet and what they value as good is truly evil in all caes; thus they are the people of the devil; of satan and the opposite of Christians; Jesus, the true God and the Bible; enough said!! Pretty much opposite of all rational people of any faith! If they persist in their idiotcy of pushing themselves all over the world, then it will be the world against them; Crusades II...

Even in a declared war, certain rules must be followed:

The Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) has given clear instructions about the behaviour of the Muslim army. He observed:

"Set out for Jihad in the name of Allah and for the sake of Allah. Do not lay hands on the old verging on death, on women, children and babies. Do not steal anything from the booty and collect together all that falls to your lot in the battlefield and do good, for Allah loves the virtuous and the pious."

So great is the respect for humanly feelings in Islam that even the wanton destruction of enemy's crops or property is strictly forbidden. The righteous Caliphs followed closely the teachings of Allah and those of His Apostle in letter and spirit the celebrated address which the first Caliph Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him) gave to his army while sending her on the expedition to the Syrian borders is permeated with the noble spirit with which the war in Islam is permitted. He said:

"Stop, O people, that I may give you ten rules for your guidance in the battlefield. Do not commit treachery or deviate from the right path. You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman. nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not any of the enemy's flock. save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone"

It is said that once at the time of conquest, a singing girl was brought to al-Muhajir b. Abu Umayya who had been publicly singing satirical poems about Hadrat Abu Bakr. Muhajir got her hand amputated. When the Caliph heard this news, he was shocked and wrote a letter to Muhajir in the following words:

"I have learnt that you laid hands on a woman who had hurled abuses on me, and, therefore, got her hand amputated. God has not sought vengeance even in the case of polytheism, which is a great crime. He has not permitted mutilation even with regard to manifest infidelity. Try to be considerate and sympathetic in your attitude towards others in future. Never mutilate, because it is a grave offence. God purified Islam and the Muslims from rashness and excessive wrath. You are well aware of the fact that those enemies fell into the hands of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) who had been recklessly abusing him; who had turned him out of his home; and who fought against him, but he never permitted their mutilation."

Another letter written by hadrat 'Umar the Second Caliph, which is addressed to Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas, speaks eloquently of the noble spirit with which the Muslims have bear exhorted to take up arms:

"Always search your minds and hearts and stress upon your men the need of perfect integrity and sincerity in the cause of Allah. There should be no material end before them in laying down their lives. but they abould deem it a means whereby they can please their Lord and entitle them. selves to His favour: such a spirit of selflessness should be inculcated in the minds of those who unfortunately lack it. Be firm in the thick of the battle as Allah helps man according to the perseverance that he shows in the cause of His faith and he would be rewarded in accordance with the spirit of sacrifice which he displays for the sake of the Lord. Be careful that those who have been entrusted to your care receive no harm at your hands and are never deprived of any of their legitimate rights."

    A Special Note:

PROHIBITION OF KILLING WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN WAR

Book 019, Number 4319 Sahih Muslim:

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah that a woman was found killed in one of the battles fought by the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He disapproved of the killing of women and children.

    Book 019, Number 4320:

It is narrated by Ibn 'Umar that a woman was found killed in one of these battles; so the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade the killing of women and children.

    1. The child molester Mohammed who used many of his wives for his pleasure every day did not want the children or women killed? Hmmm. I wonder why not.

The torturer Muhammed that wrote a book repeatedly telling his followers how to torture infidels , but no chapters telling them how to farm land, that lived in the dessert where food and supplies are scarce, and had a population to feed, clothe, and shelter, didn't want any of the bounty from war destroyed? Hmm. I wonder why not?

Guess he just must have been a really really nice man. Not that he wanted to take, rape, and plunder. Oh no, it could not be that.

Here's some common sense for you, if he was really a nice man, why was he sending men to fight those villages instead of leaving then alone in peace? ...hmm. Must be because he was peaceful

If islam was peaceful, they would never have killed anyone. Not even the healthy men. He killed the woman's father, husband, uncle, brothers. And now, he takes her and forces himself on her. Yeah, that's real peaceful right there. Real good, kind, and "loving"

    3. The very first words. "Set out for Jihad"

That makes him evil. He's telling these people to set out to kill people. Period. Not for revenge. Not to defend. Not because anyone had done them wrong. But simply to spread His beliefs. To force people to lie and say they believe him. Proof that Muhammed the child molesting, Schizophrenic, narcissistic, psychopath, believes everyone should set out to kill anyone that doesn't believe in his psychologically ill rantings.

Plus he needs to steal more women and kids and food to be raped and plundered.
      How kind of him.

A good person would never say "set out for jihad" like Muhammed

If you take the exact same wish, and wish it upon a good peaceful person like Jesus of the bible (Not Muhammad's fictional Isa)
And you wished the same wish upon Muhammad,

Who would be tortured? And who would be blessed?

      Here is that wish...
( May you be treated the way you treated those that never believed in you, and those that mistreated you, and how you commanded them to be treated. )

That shows what kind of soul they have. One put out love, the other put out hate.

I'm not even a Christian, but even I can see that.

And don't start comparing the old testament. After Jesus was born, people could be forgiven, and Jesus laid down a New Covenant.. New rules, new laws. To replace the old. Everything changed. There is nothing Jesus did that was cruel or hateful

  5. Since no prophet before or since has tried to commit suicide from being possessed by the devil,
    ( http://www.radicaltruth.net/index.php/learn/five-things/5-five-things-about-muhammad )
it would seem that he is a false prophet...maybe a madman, spouting evil and barbarism.

To in his service...Muslims have been recently slaughtered in the Middle East because they have converted...infidels who do not submit are slaughtered..men , women and children ! The few good quotes from the Quran are either followed by a bad quote or somewhere in the Quran their are plenty. If you read the Quran, it makes your hair stand up with all the HATE for Christians, Jews, and converted Muslims. Islam means SUBMIT, so much for the religion of peace.

    Saheeh Bukhari

    Volumn 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 256.

Narated By As-Sab bin Jaththama : The Prophet passed by me at a place called Al-Abwa or Waddan, and was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)." I also heard the Prophet saying, "The institution of Hima is invalid except for Allah and His Apostle."

    Saheeh Muslim

    Book 019, Hadith Number 4321.

Chapter : Permissibility of killing women and children in the night raids, provided it is not deliberate.

It is reported on the authority of Sa'b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.

  8. The difference between a fear and a phobia is that fears are rational, phobias are not.

Considering that every single jihadist is a Muslim, doing as the Quran tells them to, being afraid that Muslims that follow that same book that tells them to do those same things could be jihadist is a logical fear, not a phobia. Therefore the term islamaphobe does not apply. Now, if you have a false illogical fear of Muslims, such as you thought they did something completely illogical, like turning into bats at night, now that would make you an islamaphobe.
