Action Alert: Email Facebook on Behalf of Geert Wilders

A READER just sent me a copy of a note she sent to Facebook about the removal of the Geert Wilders' Facebook page. She sent her email to: abuse@facebook.com (update: this email address may no longer work; please see comments on this post for the lastest information). I think we should all do something similar. As soon as I post this, I'm going to do it too. Here is what she wrote:

I just found out that FaceBook took down Geert Wilders' page. That's wrong. That's against freedom of speech. He's a well respected member of the Holland's third largest political party. He's fighting for freedom and everything we hold dear. How could you possibly take his page off FaceBook?

I can only presume you have submitted to the complaints of Muslims and you are afraid to take a stand against them. You guys need to step up to the plate and behave like men, not scared little boys.

If you value democracy and your right to speak our mind, even if the truth offends Islam, then you simply must take a stand for freedom of speech. His is not hate speech. He simply speaks the truth about what Islam is doing to his homeland of Holland and the rest of Europe. As he has said more than once: America is the world's last great hope. Please show him he's right.

Thank you.

The page protesting Facebook's action is growing quickly. Please share it with your friends, and tell them why it's important that we do not cave in to Islamic demands to curb our free speech: Geert Wilders We Want Your Facebook Page Back.

It is possible that Geert was the victim of "Facebook Jihad" by Revolution Muslim. Learn more about that here: Facebook Jihad.

  1. One of our readers sent a copy of a letter he sent to abuse@facebook.com. This is what he said:

If it is true that you buckled to the "smackdown" by Revolution Muslim, I hope you come to your sense soon.

Geert Wilders says controversial things, but he speaks honestly and not with any vulgarity. He should not be censored. This is still a free country, and Facebook, of all companies, should be striving to keep it free, not voluntarily limiting free speech.

I am afraid you have been a victim of an internet jihad. The purpose is to limit and curtail free speech about the basic principles, motives, and goals of Islam. If you listen to them and buckle under pressure from them, you are aiding a dedicated enemy of free speech and women's rights.

Please learn more about what these guys are up to, and please alter your policies accordingly:

  2. I have heard that a message to abuse@facebook.com came back as undeliverable. I hope it's because Facebook is overwhelmed with protests. Please try again if this happens to you. The email address is good.

Perhaps people should threaten to Boycott Facebook by deleting their advertised paid for profiles and usage for a month or indefinitely depending on the action they "take" OR "do not take", regarding this issue. Then we can use Twitter's free speech platform instead. Shame on them. Are they really cowards. They need to remind the radical Islamic groups (revolutionmuslim.com **** EVEN THEIR NAME SPEAKS FOR ITSELF)pressuring them that THIS IS AMERICA. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, PERIOD. That's all that needs to be said because NO AMERICAN LAWS HAVE BEEN BROKEN HERE.
Americans WILL show corporations and businesses that succumb to radical threats that their weak stance and decisions on free speech through their business WILL ABSOLUTELY EFFECT AND IMPACT THEIR BOTTOM LINE $$$. Best be wise while you are still ahead in the game Facebook.

  5. 2:55 PM Anonymous,

I think every battle counts. Stealth Jihad works by small increments. Each needs to be fought.

And every incident like this is an opportunity to use a current event to talk to people who don't know anything about Islam, and to help enlighten them.

  6. A woman just sent us a copy of a note she wrote to Facebook:

"Facebook is about connecting with like-minded people. Bring back the Geert Wilders Facebook page. Don't let Islamic threats stifle YOUR free speech. There's plenty of documentation for Wilders' assertions that militant Muslims intend to stifle any dissent...by violence and threats of violence. What's "peaceful" about that? "

  7. Citizen Warrior,

    Bad News.

I wrote to Face Book, and they sent me an email, telling me that they'd get back to me shortly, However, soon I got another very strange reply. After their first quick reply to my email, where they told me to be patient and they would get back to me on the subject. I received a second reply with these exact words in it. I am quoting the part of the second email reply from Face Book exactly as it was written.

"Unfortunately, the email address you are using to reach us is no longer available. In order to best assist you, we have provided avenues of support for specific issues that are located in our Help Center. Please do not reply to this message. Instead, follow the link that best suits your problem."

What?!!! Why didn't I get this reply in the first email reply they sent me, if the address no longer exists, and if it does no longer exist, how did they get my email? I know they got it, becouse they wrote back to me, and even sign it as the Facebook Team.

  8. I got the same two responses, and I also thought it seemed strange. Maybe they were inundated with complaints about what's happening. Apparently Brigitte Gabriel's page and Robert Spencer's were both attacked by Revolution Muslim and Facebook shut down their pages.

  9. Citizen Warrior,

It sounds like the people who run facebook are cowards. They'll probably take down the page set up to campaign for the return of Geert Wilder's facebook page. I don't know what else to do. This is really upsetting. The more people give into these fanatics, the harder it will be to defeat them.

  10. Damien, I believe the people who run Facebook are completely ignorant of Islam, so they don't know what to do. Act for America is in communication with Facebook, and if they don't get the issue resolved, they will take it to court, which would help this information reach more people. There is definitely a story here worth covering.

Facebook may indeed take down the Geert Wilders' return page, but that won't be the end of this.

What can YOU do? Keep harrassing Facebook. Keep talking about it with people. Keep informing people about Islam, and use this problem happening right now today as an example of how Muslims keep encroaching on freedoms.

    And keep your morale high.

  11. Citizen Warrior,

Thanks for the advice, and I agree, we ought to keep the pressure on them. all that we can.

I personally have no idea exactly how much the people who run Facebook know or don't know about Islam. I think we might want to keep in mind that it was Revolution Muslim that threatened Comedy Central the last time they aired an episode of South Park that even mentioned Mohammad. Also from what I understand they took down their "Everybody Draw Mohammad Day" page soon after Pakistan banned them. Even if they are completely ignorant of Islam, it is not a courageous stance to censor a groups critics in order to appease them, especially when they use death threats.

  12. Citizen Warrior,

By the way, I just an emailed to a bunch of people about this, and sent them a link to this post. You might want to add something about this issue we've been having with the "abuse@facebook.com" email address and see we can find another one, if there is one.

  13. Good suggestion, Damien. Consider it done.

  14. On the Facebook page, someone posted a link to an article on how to contact Facebook.

And one woman wrote the following comment:

Since there are so many options, maybe it would be more effective we all wrote to the same one?

Maybe this one, though it wasn't actually our page that was disabled, but still, it might be appropriate: Your Facebook Page was Disabled.

Or there's a link for general suggestion: Your General Suggestion.

Or this one because, in a very real way, it was a terrorist attack against freedom of speech: Report Terrorist Content.

  15. Citizen Warrior,

You're Welcome, sorry about my poor grammar in my last comment. I should have spell checked it before I posted it.
