Orthodox Islam's Relentless Encroachment

MAINSTREAM MEDIA focuses on terrorism because acts of violence are supremely newsworthy. But terrorist violence by Jihadis is only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the radar is a huge political movement going on right under our noses, undermining freedoms and aiming relentlessly at gaining concessions for Muslims everywhere.

This sounds very rabble-rousing and extreme, but it is nothing of the kind. We have no need to try to guess their purposes — Jihadis state their goals openly and fervently, and they have one primary goal. It's a goal Allah has given all Muslims, and to which Allah expects full participation: The establishment of the law of Allah throughout the world.

Islam is a political religion. It makes the attainment of political goals a religious duty.

Allah said (through Mohammad, and written down in the Qur'an) he does not want his followers sitting around meditating or spending their lives in a monastery. Allah expects good Muslims to demonstrate their devotion and faith by working toward a time when the whole world "submits" to Allah.

There is no more important goal in Islam and everyone has a part to play.

Muslim women can give birth to as many healthy children as possible (helping to gain a numerical superiority) and raise them to be devout Muslims; the Imams can keep their listeners motivated; Muslim merchants can support jihad financially; warriors can fight; Muslim lawyers can sue anyone who criticizes Islam, hackers can shut down web sites that try to expose Islamic teachings, and Muslims with charisma can lure people to the faith and hoodwink the enemies of Allah (anyone opposing the movement toward Islamic domination) with taqiyya.

There is no better way to show Allah your devotion than jihad, according to the Qur'an. As far as Allah is concerned, actions speak louder than words. It doesn't matter how you feel. It doesn't matter if you'd rather just live a good life. Allah expects you to fight for Islam wherever you are and even if you don't feel like it, and to fight in whatever way you can.

When Muslims do not have the political power to impose their will, they are charged with the task of gaining that power. In democratic countries, the task is the constant, unrelenting pressure to gain concessions. This blog illustrates what kind of concessions I'm talking about.

Each concession may seem small, but they are adding up. Meanwhile, the Muslim population is growing in democratic countries.

Definition of Abrogation

To abrogate means to abolish, do away with, or annul, especially by authority.

This is a key term in studying the Quran. There are some peaceful, tolerant verses in the Quran. But the violent, intolerant ones have abrogated them. The Quran itself explains what to do with conflicting verses. If two passages conflict, it says, the one written later is better than the one written earlier. The earlier passage has been abrogated by the later one.

The bad news for non-Muslims is that almost all the peaceful passages were written earlier, and the intolerant, hateful, and violent ones were written later (read more about this).

The two key abrogation passages in the Quran are these:

2:106 "Whatever of Our revelations We repeal or cause to be forgotten, We will replace them with something superior or comparable. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things? Do you not know that Allah reigns sovereign over the heavens and earth and besides Him you have no protector or helper? Would you question your messenger as Moses was questioned in his time? Those who exchange their faith for disbelief have gone astray from the right path."

16:101 "When We exchange one verse for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say, 'You are making this up.' Most of them do not understand."

Bill Warner writes, "There are as many as 225 verses of the Koran that are altered by later verses. This is called abrogation."

Of the Koran's 114 suras (chapters), only 43 are without abrogated or abrogating verses. That is naturally surprising, and so unexpected that few Westerners are aware that significant segments of the Koran have been theologically annulled. Mohammed's non-Muslim contemporaries were just as surprised.

"Abrogation" means the canceling or replacement of one Quranic passage by another. It seems that as circumstances changed during the 23-year period that Muhammad dictated the Quran, the directions and precepts found therein sometimes changed to accommodate new and changing political and military realities, sometimes quite dramatically. Thus, the Quran abrogates or cancels itself in various passages and presents seemingly conflicting statements. Muslims do not view this sort of abrogation as a contradiction, but rather, as improvements to better suit varying circumstances or needs, or to fit Muhammad's religious concepts.

What Non-Muslims Can Do About Islam

Not only are some people killing non-Muslims in the name of Islam (in impressive numbers) but some are doing something less newsworthy but potentially more destructive: Demanding and gaining concessions from non-Muslims, and slowly encroaching on democratic freedoms with the end-goal of establishing Sharia law in Western democracies (and already succeeding). This must be stopped and your help is needed.

But if you're not a soldier and if you don't work for a counterterrorist organization, what can you do? There are a surprising number of practical, effective actions you can take right where you are to deal with the problem of Islam, and we will keep adding to the list below as we discover more. Each of the actions is linked to an article explaining more about it:

1. Join ACT! for America and participate. AFA is a large and fast-growing organization aimed at stopping the Islamization of America. In this fight, whoever is most organized will win. AFA is opening up in other countries too. Check it out. They provide action alerts for specific actions to take — at the local level and also the national level — that stops creeping Sharia in America.

2. Read the Koran. By reading the Koran, you'll understand the situation more clearly and you'll be able to speak with authority to others.

3. Help women everywhere gain basic human rights by chiming for change. Or participate in the Girl Effect.

4. Help neutralize the apologists for Islam at Voice for the Voiceless.

5. Share online articles, but skillfully.

6. Use this very informative and economical leaflet to help educate your fellow non-Muslims about Islam.

7. Educate your family and friends about Islam on Facebook.

8. Educate and motivate the public using FaceBook.

9. Join groups on Facebook that raise awareness of Islam-related issues.

10. Use Yahoo Answers to educate your fellow non-Muslims about Islam.

11. Stop burning gasoline in your car. You can either buy a flex-fuel vehicle and burn ethanol, or you can add a conversion kit to the car you already have, or you can just burn ethanol in your car (see more about that here). This is a vital, urgent task that could have enormous ramifications. To buy gasoline is to pay the jizya.

12. Talk to your friends about Islam. (It will help to study the Citizen Warrior's manual.)

13. Share online videos. This page has an updated list of recommended videos. If you know of one not on the list, please add it.

14. Create a counterjihad page on Facebook. Here's how to do it and why.

15. Sign a petition right now that urges our politicians to stop Muslim immigration.

16. Share An Inquiry Into Islam with others.

17. Support the Honor Killing Awareness Campaign.

18. Participate in the "Stop the Jihad on Campus" annual events.

19. Educate high school students about Islam. Do what these innovative activists did.

20. Promote the resources on this list by making comments on blogs, web sites, Facebook pages, Yahoo Answers, etc.

21. Tell others about this list. Share the domain name, WhatYouCanDoAboutIslam.com (which goes to this page).

22. Help and support the Mapping Sharia Project.

23. Try some glamourbombing.

24. Submit story ideas to reporters and news outlets.

25. Help support Citizen Warrior.

26. Share DVDs with your friends.

27. Give one of these handouts to people.

28. Man a booth at a fair like these folks do to educate passersby.

29. Talk directly to police and politicians like this man does.

Don't try to do all of these. You've got to be smart about this, and that includes keeping your motivation level high, getting enough sleep, and having a life. Feeling overwhelmed by things that must be done is not good for your motivation and it can impair your ability to persist.

So choose one or two of these things that most interest you, and get to work on it. You can always come back to this list later if you want to do more.

Also, I urge you to share this list with people who want to do something but don't know what. Let's defeat Islam's relentless encroachment with our effective actions.

And please don't beat your head against a brick wall. If you talk to people and you meet resistance, use skillful means to get past the resistance. Stop struggling and feeling frustrated and use the tools you'll find here instead.

A LITTLE WHILE ago I heard about an organization that handed out the movie, Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West, to hundreds of delegates at the Democratic Convention in Denver because they think Democrats (in general) somewhat ignore the creeping Islamization of the U.S.

The organization was called, fittingly enough, Watch Obsession. They decided to fight against the Islamic political encroachment by promoting the movie, Obsession.

I recommend the movie also. I have loaned my copy to most of my friends. I think it's a great way to give someone an authoritative overview of the problem, and to introduce them to key Islamic principles like Shari'a law and taqiyya (religious deception).

Undercover at London Mosque

Have you ever wondered what they say at mosques behind closed doors? Here's your chance to find out.

The video below is part of a British television program where a Muslim woman goes into London's most important mosque to see what they are teaching and promoting. Answer: They are promoting jihad, Shari'a and the spread of Islam.

The film was a little too generous to Islam, I thought. But I guess it's better to err on the side of generosity. At one point in the film, for example, the teacher says homosexuals should be pushed off a high place and killed. It is slightly misleading when the narrator says, "Nowhere in the Qur'an does it say that." Any Muslim can tell you much of Shari'a Law is based on the Hadiths and the Sira. But anyway, check it out:

Undercover Mosque

The fact that Britain has known what this mosque preaches for at least a year and a half and still allows it is pathetic. Allowing the Muslims their sedition is a dangerous concession. Add enough of these concessions together and the Jihadis will get their way: Shari'a will be the law in Britain. In fact, it already has begun: Shari'a Allowed In Britain.

Definition of Sedition

Sedition is conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.

Sedition is the crime of creating a revolt, disturbance, or violence against lawful civil authority with the intent to cause its overthrow or destruction. Because it is limited to organizing and encouraging opposition to government rather than directly participating in its overthrow, sedition is regarded as falling one step short of the more serious crime of treason.

Every legitimate government in existence has a law against sedition. It is a basic principle of the survival of a government that it doesn't allow itself to be usurped. Those governments who did not have laws against plotting to overthrow the government do not exist any longer. They have been overthrown.

The bad news for Jihadis is that as soon as enough of us non-Muslims realize that jihad and Shari'a — in other words, primary Islamic teachings — are inherently seditious and punishable according to already-existing laws. The sooner we have that collective insight, the sooner the relentless Islamic political encroachment will be stopped.

Mapping Shari'a

THE MAPPING SHARI'A PROJECT sends trained people into mosques in the U.S. to find out whether or not they are calling for jihad. In other words, do the leaders of the mosques urge their followers to follow the strict teachings of Islam, including the call to undermine the United States government and to eventually overthrow it? For the majority of the mosques they've investigated so far, the answer is Yes. (Read more about U.S. mosques.)

To advocate jihad is sedition, and anyone doing so in the U.S. ought to be imprisoned or deported. Allowing it to occur is self-destructive multiculturalism. When the Mapping Shari'a Project finds a mosque advocating jihad against the United States, they give that information to law enforcement officials.

This is one of the most practical actions I've heard about anyone taking to defeat the relentless Islamic political encroachment.

I asked the Mapping Shari'a Project if the information they provide has led to the arrest or conviction of any Jihadis, and they said,

"We cannot publicize what if any are the end results of our leads provided to federal and local authorities but we can confirm that all Serious Incident Reports of direct or palpable threats are reported to the authorities. While the top brass in DC among the FBI and HS are foolish at best, the guys on the streets know the score and that is one real reason we have not had an attack in 7 years. Your assistance in getting the word out is appreciated."

Definition of Kafir

A kafir is a person who is not a Muslim.

Islam makes a sharp distinction between Muslims on the one side and everyone else on the other. Their laws distinguish this too. In Shari'a law, a Muslim can testify in court against a kafir, but a kafir may not testify against a Muslim. In Shari'a law, it is illegal for a Muslim to kill a fellow Muslim, but it is not illegal for a Muslim to kill a kafir. A kafir is an unbeliever, an infidel.

Political Islam has a good definition also: Defining Kafir, complete with quotes from the Koran describing how Muslims ought to deal with kafirs. It's not pretty.

Answers.com defines it this way:

Kafir is an Arabic word literally meaning "ingrate." In the Islamic doctrinal sense the term refers to a person who does not recognize Allah or the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad and hides, denies, or covers the truth. In cultural terms, it is a derogatory term used to describe an unbeliever or an apostate from Islam. It is usually translated into English as "infidel" or "unbeliever."

The word kāfir is the active participle of the root K-F-R "to cover". As a pre-Islamic term it described farmers burying seeds in the ground, covering them with soil while planting. Thus, the word kāfir implies the meaning "a person who hides or covers". In Islamic parlance, a kāfir is a word used to describe a person who rejects Islamic faith, i.e. "hides or covers [viz., the truth]".

Definition of Apatheist

In the Atlantic magazine, Jonathan Rauch described apatheism as "a disinclination to care all that much about one's own religion and even a stronger disinclination to care about other people's" (Rauch, Jonathan, Atlantic May, 2000).

Lucky for non-Muslims, many Muslims are apatheists. They may be afraid to leave their religion for fear of the death penalty for apostates. But they don't care about its teachings, particularly the Qur'an's instructions to fight in jihad. Or any of its other terrifying ideas.

Concessions To Islam

I JUST READ an excellent article by Mark Steyn called Lights Out On Liberty. He made many good points in the article, and below I will share a few choice nuggets. But I urge you to read the full article (maybe share this trimmed-down version with your friends). And then come back here and let's get to work doing something about it. Steyn said, among other things:

...today’s multicultural societies tolerate the explicitly intolerant and avowedly unicultural, while refusing to tolerate anyone pointing out that intolerance. It’s been that way for 20 years now, ever since Valentine’s Day 1989, when the Ayatollah Khomeini issued his fatwa against the novelist Salman Rushdie, a British subject, and shortly thereafter large numbers of British Muslims marched through English cities openly calling for Rushdie to be killed.

As Pastor Martin Niemoller might have said, "First they came for Piglet and I did not speak out because I was not a Disney character, and if I was, I’d be more of an Eeyore. Then they came for the Three Little Pigs and Babe, and by the time I realized the Western world had turned into a 24/7 Looney Tunes, it was too late, because there was no Porky Pig to stammer, ‘Th-th-th-that’s all folks!’, and bring the nightmare to an end."

What all these stories have in common is excessive deference to — and in fact fear of — Islam. If the story of the Three Little Pigs is forbidden when Muslims still comprise less than ten percent of Europe’s population, what else will be on the black list when they comprise 20 percent? In small but telling ways, non-Muslim communities are being persuaded that a kind of uber-Islamic law now applies to all.

I would argue that these incremental concessions to Islam are ultimately a bigger threat than terrorism. What matters is not what the lads in the Afghan cave — the "extremists" — believe, but what the non-extremists believe, what people who are for the most part law-abiding taxpayers of functioning democracies believe.

Last month, in a characteristically clotted speech followed by a rather more careless BBC interview, the Archbishop of Canterbury said that it was dangerous to have one law for everyone and that the introduction of Sharia to the United Kingdom was "inevitable." Within days of His Grace’s remarks, the British and Ontario governments both confirmed that thousands of polygamous men in their jurisdictions are receiving welfare payments for each of their wives. Kipling wrote that East is East and West is West, and ne’er the twain shall meet. But when the twain do meet, you often wind up with the worst of both worlds. Say what you like about a polygamist in Waziristan or Somalia, but he has to do it on his own dime. To collect a welfare check for each spouse, he has to move to London or Toronto. Government-subsidized polygamy is an innovation of the Western world.

The Western world is not run by fellows noted for their line-holding: Look at what they’re conceding now and then try to figure out what they’ll be conceding in five years’ time.

Sharia in Britain? Taxpayer-subsidized polygamy in Toronto? Yawn. Nothing to see here. True, if you’d suggested such things on September 10, 2001, most Britons and Canadians would have said you were nuts. But a few years on and it doesn’t seem such a big deal, nor will the next concession, or the one after that.

Ultimately, our crisis is not about Islam. It’s not about fire-breathing Imams or polygamists whooping it up on welfare. It’s not about them. It’s about us. And by us I mean the culture that shaped the modern world, and established the global networks, legal systems, and trading relationships on which the planet depends.

To reprise Sir Edward Grey, the lamps are going out all over the world, and an awful lot of the map will look an awful lot darker by the time many Americans realize the scale of this struggle.

What is a Jihadi?

A Jihadi is someone who follows Muhammad's example.

A Jihadi is someone who follows the teachings of Islam strictly.

There are many Muslims around the world who are not strict about it, just as there are people who say they are Buddhist or Christian who are casual about it, who don't meditate or pray, who don't go to church or read scriptures or sutras. And it is lucky for us so many Muslims are lackadaisical about being a Muslim because those who are strict about Islam are dangerous to everyone who is not a Muslim.

This is not bigoted. This is not "hate-speech." Muhammad lived in a tough time, and his violent ways of winning converts and wealth may have been common in his time, but unfortunately in the principle Islamic holy book, the Qur'an, it says over seventy times that a good Muslim should follow Muhammad's example. It is very clear on that point. And his example was intolerant and violent to non-Muslims.

So a Jihadi is someone who believes the Qur'an means what it says: That the way to Paradise, the way to win the approval of Allah, is to establish Shari'a in every country of the world, and to use violence if necessary. Shari'a subjugates all non-Muslims, giving them a second-class status called "Dhimmi."

The goal of establishing worldwide Islamic domination is a Jihadi's most important purpose, and his whole life is devoted to it. Muhammad said living in a monastery was a lazy coward's way of showing your devotion to Allah. Actions speak louder than words. A true believer should risk his life, invest his money, and spend his time working to fulfill the goal Allah has given him: To never rest until the whole world submits to Allah. The process Muhammad gave his followers to fulfill this goal is jihad.

Here's something from Answers.com on "Jihadi:"

Jihadi is a political neologism (new word or expression) referring to an individual who participates in advancing jihad politically or militarily, most often referring to the people directly engaged in Islamic terrorism or supporting it. The roots of the term lie with the terrorists themselves, as they publicly adopted it as evidenced by many public speeches and text by terrorists such as Osama Bin Laden. Hence, the term was not placed on them by others...

The correct Arabic term for one who engages in jihad is "Mujahid" (plural is Mujahideen). The formation of "Jihadi" from "jihad" may be based on the example of the word-final-i which refers to place of origin such as "Saudi", "Pakistani", "Afghani," "Israeli," etc.

Far too many important books don't have audio versions.

Back in my college days, I volunteered to read technical text books to assist a blind student who became my maid of honor at my wedding. Since those days, technology has advanced a great deal but not everyone can afford the equipment, so there is still a service to be provided.

There are a multitude of books of interest to the counterjihad that should become audiobooks.

I am currently exploring this effort myself. Books written by Apostates such as Ali Sina Psychobiography of Mo and Walid Shoebat Why I Left the Jihad would be of personal interest. I would need to get their permission for such an endeavor. There are books long out of print — novels like: 1946 edition of Sir Naked Blade evaded all politically correct editing would be of personal interest as well.

Here's just a couple of paragraphs from the opening chapter :

There was no escape for the Little Jesus. Becalmed in this glare of blue sea, with no whisper of wind out of the grayish sky, she lay as if yoked to the unbroken waters of the Mediterranean. Sails drooped on the yards like dried skin and the pitch was hot and wet in the seams. Helpless, she lay while the pirate galleys heaved over the horizon, their oars lifting, falling, centipede-like legs swaying them close to the unmoving English victim. Low ruffs of foam stirred by the dipping blades were the only movement, it seemed, on that dark sea. The Little Jesus waited as if bewitched, as if damned, while her crew leaned on the bulwarks, watching silently, white-faced and steady-fingered. There was nothing further for them to do. All was prepared for battle: cannon loaded, water-buckets filled, the slow-matches burning over them, while powder-kegs stood by pyramids of black shot. Guns and pistols were cocked, powder drying the shut pans, swords, were unsheathed and spat back the sunlight in flickering silver.

"Friend, said the master standing unhatted on the poop, "it is time for prayer, for our time may be short. In the hands of God this day lie not only our souls but our sinful bodies and my ship's cargo. Let us pray God for the strength of David or Samson against these infidels. Only with the Lord's help can we conquer, for we are outnumbered beyond numbering. But let not your stomachs fall at that. We can have no mightier ally than God and this ship is God's ship in honor and love of His Son, while they have but the foolish Allah and his cheat Mohammad to shield them. Take heart fellows and pray that we be not forgotten this day in heaven.
